Privacy notice
How Trust Life Assurance collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Restated framework — subject to legal review before publication.
A. The personal data we process
Depending on the products you hold, we process personal and contact details (name, occupation, contact information), financial details such as income and savings, and — for life and medical products — information about your health or vulnerability as a customer, together with credit and fraud-prevention information.
B. Where your data comes from
We collect data from you directly, from family members, associates or beneficiaries you name, from brokers and other intermediaries such as agents, distributors and business partners, and from cookies, location services and IP addresses when you use our website or app.
B.1. Cookies
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies (login and security), analytical cookies (how the site is used) and functionality cookies (remembering your preferences). You can control cookies through your browser settings.
C. How we use your data, and on what basis
We process personal data to administer our products and perform our obligations to you, to comply with regulatory and legal requirements, to design and improve products, and — with the required consent — to send direct marketing. The legal basis is contract necessity, legal obligation, or consent.
D. Reference checks
We may use credit reference, tracing and fraud-prevention agencies to verify identity and meet compliance obligations.
E. Automated decision-making
Some decisions and profiling may be automated. Where local law requires it, we will tell you when a decision about you is made this way.
F. Sensitive personal data
Health and other sensitive data is processed only where needed for your product and, where the law requires it, with your explicit consent.
G. Your rights
You may request a free copy of your personal data, ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete, ask us to delete data that is no longer needed, and object to your data being used for direct marketing.
H. Acting on behalf of someone else
If you give us personal data about another person — a beneficiary or family member — you confirm you have their consent to do so.
I. Direct marketing
Electronic marketing is sent only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time. You can also object to postal marketing.
—. How long we keep your data
Your personal data is stored for as long as you (or your joint policyholder) are our customer, or longer where the law requires it.
